Sommer, Sonne, Strand – Verlobungsfotos auf Sylt

Die Insel Sylt ist ein ganz besonderes Stückchen Erde – auf der einen Seite von der Nordsee und auf der anderen vom Wattenmeer umgeben, zusätzlich dazu von einem entschleunigten Lebensgefühl ihrer Besucher gekrönt. Die Landschaften sind so abwechslungsreich und zu jeder Tageszeit ist hier eine andere Atmosphäre wahrnehmbar. Man kann immer wieder Neues entdecken: die weiten Sanddünen, den intensiven Duft von Sylter Rosen, die frei weidenden Schafe, die eleganten und urigen Reetdachhäuser, kleine Fischbuden – angezogen nicht nur von Menschen, sondern auch von zahlreichen Möwen und Austernfischern, ganze fünf Leuchttürme und das grenzenlose Meer.

Linda und Simon, die ihr in diesem Blogbeitrag gleich sehen werdet, haben mich mit vielen schönen Plätzchen auf Sylt bekannt gemacht und dafür bin ich den Beiden unendlich dankbar! Beim Verlobungsshooting haben wir uns die schönsten Fotospots der Insel vorgemerkt und den sonnigen Sommertag gemeinsam genossen, als wären wir alt bekannte Freunde. Insbesondere wenn das Vertrauen in die Arbeitsweise des Fotografen und die Chemie stimmen, kann man großartige Aufnahmen erschaffen. Wir haben das Shooting in einem mit 2 Michelin-Sternen ausgezeichneten Restaurant Söl’ring Hof bei einer Tasse Kaffee in einem authentischen Strandkorb begonnen. Bereits der Ausblick von der Terrasse raubt einem den Atem, man kann ihn am besten in einer geteilten Zweisamkeit auf der Bank mit Meerblick genießen.

Linda und Simon sind ein fantastisches, liebevolles Paar, das schon lange in das Meer verliebt ist und eine persönliche Verbundenheit zur Insel hat. Sie kennen sich bestens mit den Orten aus und haben mir viele Insider-Tipps gegeben. Zum Beispiel für die fantastische Kulisse für unseren gemütlichen Picknick am Strand, bevor es dann zum Abend hin ins Künstler-Dörfchen Keitum ging. Dort kann man sich übrigens im traditionellen Ambiente im Heimatmuseum, einem oberhalb des grünen Kliffs gelegenen alten Kapitänshaus von 1759, standesamtlich trauen lassen.

Langsam färbte die Abendsonne die Landschaft erst im sanften gelb, dann in Rosé-Tönen und als wir den kleinen Leuchtturm am “Roten Kliff” in Kampen erreichten, haben die Farben ihre pastellfarbende Quintessenz erreicht. Solche besonderen Tage mit Menschen, die einander spürbar so viel Liebe und Respekt schenken und diese Momente für ewig in Fotos festhalten möchten, machen meine Arbeit als Fotografin zu einer sehr emotionalen und erfüllenden Arbeit, einer wirklichen Bereicherung für mich. Ich freue mich schon sehr auf die Hochzeit dieses Paares, sie wird auch am Meer stattfinden, aber diesmal an der Ostsee, im beeindruckenden WEISSENHAUS Grand Village Resort (Update – in diesem Blogbeitrag könnt ihr euch von der Hochzeit der Beiden inspirieren lassen). The island of Sylt is a very special corner on earth – surrounded by the North Sea on one side and the Wadden Sea on the other, and enhanced by a slowed-down attitude to life among its visitors. The landscapes are so varied and a different atmosphere can be perceived here at any time of day. You can always discover something new: the vast sand dunes, the intense scent of Sylt roses, the sheep grazing freely, the elegant and quaint thatched-roof houses, small fish stands – attracted not only by people but also by numerous seagulls and oystercatcher, a total of five lighthouses and the boundless sea.

Linda and Simon, who you will see in this blog post coming up, introduced me to many lovely spots on Sylt and for that I am infinitely grateful to both of them! At the engagement shoot, we took note of the most beautiful photo spots of the island and enjoyed the sunny summer day together as if we were old friends. Especially when there is trust in the photographer’s way of working and the chemistry is right, you can create great shots. We started the shoot in a 2 Michelin-starred restaurant Söl’ring Hof with a cup of coffee in an authentic Strandkorb. Already the view from the terrace takes your breath away, it is best enjoyed in a shared togetherness on the bench with sea view.

Linda and Simon are a fabulous, loving couple who have been in love with the sea for a long time and have a personal connection to the island. They are very knowledgeable about the places and gave me lots of insider tips. For example, for the fantastic setting for our cosy picnic on the beach before we headed to the artists’ village of Keitum for the evening. By the way, you can get married there in the traditional ambience of the local museum, an old captain’s house from 1759 situated above the green cliff.

Slowly the evening sun coloured the landscape first in soft yellow, then in shades of rosé and when we reached the small lighthouse at the “Red Cliff” in Kampen, the shades attained their pastel quintessence. Such special days with people who noticeably give each other so much love and respect and want to capture these moments forever in photos make my work as a photographer a very emotional and fulfilling job, a real enrichment for me. I am really looking forward to this couple’s wedding, it will also take place by the sea, but this time at the Baltic Sea, in the impressive WEISSENHAUS Grand Village Resort.
