Ich fotografiere ein Verlobungsshooting über den Dächern von New York? – Kneift mich, damit ich weiß, dass ich nicht träume. Doch im Herbst 2019 ist es wahr geworden – meine erste Reise in die USA und die Entdeckung von dieser neuen und doch aus all den vielen amerikanischen Filmen bekannten Welt.
Ein fantastischer Zufall: ein zukünftiges Brautpaar von mir, das in 2021 im wunderschönen Schloss Nordkirchen (eine der elegantesten und schönsten Hochzeitslocations in NRW) heiratet – Danielle und Niels – leben in NYC. Das war natürlich die perfekte Gelegenheit, ein Verlobungsshooting zu machen. Wir haben uns zwei Locations ausgesucht, die den Beiden etwas Persönliches bedeuten und somit am besten ihre Geschichte erzählen – eine Dachterrasse mit Blick auf die vielen Skyscrapers und der Classic Car Club auf Manhattan mit einer Terrasse am Wasser. Auch wenn die berühmten Foto-Spots in New York (wie Top of the Rock, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park und die coolen Straßen von Soho) mein Herz im Sturm erobert haben, finde ich es immer noch am besten, wenn der Ort für ein Fotoshooting nicht nur einfach schön ist, sondern beim Paar auch noch mit tollen Erinnerungen verbunden ist!

I’m photographing an engagement photo session above the rooftops of New York? – Pinch me to know I’m not dreaming. But in autumn 2019 it became true – my first trip to the USA and the discovery of this new and yet familiar world from all the many American movies.
A fantastic coincidence: a future bridal couple of mine who will get married in 2021 in the beautiful castle Nordkirchen (one of the most elegant and beautiful wedding locations in NRW) – Danielle and Niels – live in NYC. This was of course the perfect opportunity to do an engagement shoot. We chose two locations that mean something personal to both of them and therefore tell their story best – a roof terrace with a view of the many skyscrapers and the Classic Car Club on Manhattan with a terrace by the water. Even though the famous photo spots in New York (such as Top of the Rock, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park and the cool streets of Soho) have completely taken my heart and sou, I still think it’s best if the place for a photo shoot is not only just beautiful, but also comes with great memories of the couple!
